Robes of Earth / Penny Elizabeth Neil

Found this via Flickr. Australia based Penny Elizabeth Neil has three Etsy shops.
Sparrow Salvage- new shop with a more sparse, primitive feel.

Little Brown Sparrow (the old shop) for found-object jewelery, paper collage and more, all made from salvaged and antique things...

The Dark Woods for ragged taggle clothing, jewelery, goods and chattels with a dark, sparkly, earthy fairy edge.

See her profile on her Flickr profile. Wow.Original and mystical.

This quote sums up my week

Good ideas are not adopted automatically. They must be driven into practice with courageous patience. Admiral Hyman Rickover

I have been taking Holly's (decor8 blog)"Blogging Your Way" online class.(Love it) I've really been digging deep into my psyche to uncover what I really want this blog to be about. I have "ideas" and I will be fine tuning them, hopefully to bring to my readers something more in depth. I have dabbled with this blog for over three years. It is time to step it up..ready?

My First Blog Post Nov..2006

Saturday, November 25, 2006

All of my life I have been passionate about home interiors. It has been the canvas of my art.
I made a successful career with a retail store called "The Country Goose" For 13 years we supplied a variety of home furnishings. Our main design focus was "Country" in every form. Americana, English, French, and a constant rotation of eclectic furnishings and accessories.
The next chapter of my on going pre occupation with "Stuff" I became a manufactures rep. I had 40 different lines of Home Furnishings & Gifts. I sold to all the stores in my area many of whom I knew from being in the retail business.I did a lot of shopping in the process.
I was then fortunate to travel the world extensively for 5 years.Seeing many beautiful homes. Country estates, farmhouses, hunting lodges and some of the finest Hotels and Inns. Also, some not so glamorous places like tents and yurts. From my experience traveling I learned more about lifestyle and entertaining, the beautiful surroundings were there to support and create the feel of warmth, friendship, and to show it's soul the personality of the owners.
I have a bad habit of going to garage and estate sales. I cannot pass up a great piece of furniture, art piece, china, flatware, textiles, and anything else I feel is worthy. So................. I have a place where I can list my great finds.I like to call junk. Welcome to my world. Have fun.
